Sweet sassy molassy what a September. ‘Bama, Miami, and the Huskers (yes yes, Marshall too)? We come out of there unscathed, and get ready for some pretty high expectations. Get out of there with one loss, and we’ll consider it lucky. Fortunately, three are at home. ‘Bama is a “neutral” site, but we tend to think that most people in the deep south will be rooting for the Tide.

The usual Thursday night home game may seem pedestrian, but do not underestimate UNC. Those kids have combined their trust funds to pay for one hell of a coach. They’ll still get shellacked, but that’s not the point.

Now we get to the other Thursday night game. At East Carolina…. In November…. ARE YOU F#$%ING KIDDING ME?? Who are the ad wizards that came up with this one? If we somehow manage to beat Alabama and Nebraska, you best circle this game on the calendar. Granted, the early season game against the Pirates didn’t turn out so hot, so what do we know?

What’s key about this schedule is that ECU is one of our two toughest road games (the other people Georgia Tech). The big conference games are all at home, and we feel pretty confident about that. Yes, every road game will be difficult. But there shouldn’t be any game we aren’t favored in beside the opener.

Now, if we can just get that Utah quarterback to transfer. Or at least tell Tyrod everything he knows.
